Social Work is a science and an art.  The science of social work includes things like assessment tools and data analysis.  The art of social work involves the practitioner's skill in collecting and and organizing information about individuals and families, to then be fed into tools, predictive analytics, etc.

A practice model is meant to provide a framework for social work professionals, so that they can practice the art of their profession when collecting and organizing information about a person or family unit.
