Safety Mapping

The process of gathering and organizing important information to develop a plan of ongoing safety for children and families
The process of safety mapping is designed to include all of the members of a family but can also be very useful when completed by child welfare professionals or others working with children and families, in case consultations, supervision sessions, etc. It utilizes everyday language to help sort and prioritize case information that is sometimes complex and confusing, creating increased clarity about what the work should focus on in any particular child welfare intervention.
