Past Success Question
The past success question is a question that can be asked to get the client to reflect on a time when things had been better and what the specific factors were that made that possible. By asking a Past Success Question, the client may remember a time when they were able to deal with a challenge or to solve it. Thinking about these past successes may increase the confidence and hopefulness of the client and can assist them to confidently move forward.
- "Can you think of a time when things were a bit better?”
- “Have you ever been able to solve a problem like this before?”
- “Have ever experienced a situation kind of like this one that you were able to improve by doing something differently? What did you do differently?
